  • Fall 2024 Group Swim Program

    Puddles:

Puddles (formerly Parent Child) Group Swim Lessons are for children ages 6 months - 3 years.

This Session is intended for students who are new to the water, can support their own heads and can sit up either by themselves or with support from a parent on the side of the pool. A low student-teacher ratio allows participants to safely develop skills and confidence in the water. Skills taught may include: pool safety, enjoying family time in an aquatic environment, acclimating to the water and getting wet, breath control, entering the water, submerging safely and an introduction to swimming skills such as kicking, floating, or arm motions. We accomplish these skills through play and songs! No prior lessons or experience necessary.

Goal: To start safe exploration of water, start building comfort and confidence in water for parent and child or to further build comfort and confidence in water and build foundations for future swimming experiences.

    Splash:

Splash (formerly Preschool) Group Swim Lessons are for children ages 3 to 5 years who will participate in the water without a parent.

This Session is intended for students who may or may not be comfortable in the water and have little to no experience with lessons or swimming confidently. A low student-teacher ratio allows participants to safely develop skills and confidence in the water. Skills taught may include: pool safety, getting face wet, blowing bubbles, floating on front and back with assistance, kicking and using arms on front and back with assistance and jumping into water safely. If your child is confident in these skills please see the next level, Rapids/Level 1.

Goal: To further build confidence and comfort in water, learn to swim safely and build a swimming foundation of motion equals movement.

    Rapids:

Rapids (formerly Level 1) Group Swim Lessons are for children ages 5 years and up.

This Session is intended for students who have beginner experience with lessons or swimming confidently. A low student-teacher ratio allows participants to safely develop skills and confidence in the water. Skills taught may include: pool safety, submerging face/head, blowing bubbles, floating on front and back unassisted, kicking and using arms on front and back gradually without assistance (building the foundation of freestyle and backstroke), combining breathing and arm/leg motion while moving across the water and jumping into water safely. If your child is confident in these skills please see the next level, Rivers/Level 2.

Goal: To build confidence in swimming techniques and learn to swim safely.

    Rivers:

Rivers (formerly Level 2) Group Swim Lessons are for children ages 5 years and up.

This Session is intended for students who have intermediate swimming ability, are confident in the water and would like to work on technique. A low student-teacher ratio allows participants to safely develop skills and confidence in the water. Skills taught may include: gliding in a proper streamline position, treading, retrieving objects from the bottom of the pool, introduction to freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke techniques and diving from a wall and a diving block.

Goal: To build confidence in stroke techniques and swimming safely across the water. As well as to prepare swimmers for competitive swimming participation.

    Wolfpack Pups:

This class is for novice swimmers not fearful of the water and can float and kick on front (with face in water) and back half way across a 25 yard pool. They can take breathes to the back, front or side and continue swimming. Focus of the class is freestyle and backstroke with some introduction to breast and fly kick.
